About The Position

The Business Development Intern will support the evaluation of strategic growth opportunities and capital projects by conducting research, financial analysis, due diligence, and risk assessments to help inform business and investment decisions. This is a project-based internship. Rather than generalized administrative tasks, you will be assigned a core technical project to own from start to finish. This role offers hands-on experience, culminating in an end-of-program presentation to technical leadership.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a rising junior in an Undergraduate program student pursuing a degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related process discipline.
• Foundational understanding of open-pit or underground mining methods and operations.
• Exposure to finance, mergers and acquisitions, and accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Strong technical writing, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyze datasets, draw logical conclusions, and present findings clearly.
• A collaborative mindset with an eagerness to learn and proactively ask questions.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license required; willingness to travel to project sites if necessary

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a dedicated 12-week project, managing timelines and delivering a final report and presentation summarizing key findings and recommendations.
• Conduct industry, market, and company-specific research to assess mining companies, exploration projects, prospective mining assets, and partnership opportunities.
• Support the evaluation of mining assets and business opportunities through financial modeling, valuation analysis, and commercial due diligence.
• Gather, organize, and analyze operational, financial, and market data to assess project economics, risks, and investment potential.
• Assist with the development of financial models for exploration, development, acquisition, and capital projects to support business and investment decisions.
