About The Position

Connecting and Protecting People, Microwave Products Group (MPG) is a leading global provider of mission-critical engineered electronic components and subsystems comprised of five business units in six manufacturing locations. The Business Development Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, working with engineers/customers to drive product development, supporting the strategic plans of our Microelectronics division, and contribute to achieving MPG’s bookings/revenue goals.

Requirements

  • Strong written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • Strong RF and communications technical background.
  • Ability to create excellent long-term customer relationships.
  • Ability to generate profitable sales growth.
  • Must be a US person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)
  • Must have at least 10 years of experience in the management of selling products and capabilities in the defense, space or aerospace electronics industry or direct business development experience.
  • Must be willing to travel 30% of the time
  • Ability to hold a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leverage Microelectronics and RF systems expertise to understand customer requirements and develop solutions.
  • RF experience at the die / SMT component / connectorized box level supporting: Monolithic assemblies Hybrids – Chip and Wire SIP’s: System in package Connectorized enclosures
  • Position requires responsibility for generating and achieving monthly and annual sales forecasts. Position provides technical, quotation, and advocacy support to customers.
  • Responsible for increasing annual bookings, diversification of customer base, and providing customer support and satisfaction for MPG with a focus on Microelectronics.
  • Acts as primary MPG Microelectronics point of contact for select existing and new customer organizations or regions.
  • Identifies market requirements and leads product development and features.
  • Interfaces and manages with outside commissioned regional sales representatives.
  • Interfaces with engineering and program management personnel in preparation of technical, price proposals and quotes.
  • Collaborate with marketing and engineering to align business development strategies with market needs.
  • Identifies adjacency opportunities for MPG capabilities.
  • Tracks, obtains information for, and updates pipeline.
  • Creates monthly and annual sales forecast updates.
  • Regularly evaluates pricing and competitive analysis by product category, customer channel, and market then implements strategies to improve market position
  • Design product that will be included in the MicroE roadmap(s)
