About The Position

AECOM has an opening for a Business Development Director to support our growing Energy Business Line. AECOM is seeking a self-starter and experienced Business Development Leader to drive growth for our Industrial and Power Generation Business Unit. This external facing leader will represent AECOM in the marketplace and oversee business development, sales, and strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and 10+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience in business development, and experience in the AEC/Industrial Market Segment

  • Strong understanding of best practices in business development for professional services
  • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate problems clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff
  • Ability to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality
  • Professional certification(s) in the established discipline, such as being a Professional Engineer or Planner

Responsibilities

  • Develops and approves strategic planning and pricing decisions
  • Demonstrates a wide-range knowledge of the company, its organizational structure and philosophy, as well as the engineering and construction industry.
  • Directs, conducts, and coordinates the sales, marketing, research, and planning activities
  • Responsible for hiring and development of a “best-in-class” Business Development organization
  • Applies sound professional judgment in solving a variety of complex and difficult problems requiring the use of initiative, ingenuity, and creativity
  • Duties are complex and require extensive and diversified experience and abilities, and knowledge of marketing and planning principles and practices
  • Is fully accountable for Business Development activities within the Industry Segment (Sub-Unit)
