About The Position

The Business Development Director – Seed Operations is responsible for driving strategic growth and operational excellence within the seed licensing business. This role will identify and manage all touch points between Research and Development, Global Seed Operations and Licensing. The role is tasked to ensure seamless coordination of donor transfer, AP and Purity testing, testing procedures, quality analysis, and breeding manual specifications. The Director will establish robust procedures to facilitate effective handoffs between Corteva and third-party partners, supporting the development of business procedures and parent seed plans that align with licensing objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in business development, operations, or licensing within the agriculture or seed industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing partnerships and complex operational processes.
  • Strong understanding of seed testing procedures, quality analysis, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of Research and Development efforts with seed licensing initiatives, ensuring all operational touch points are addressed and optimized.
  • Establish and oversee procedures for coordinated handoffs between Corteva and third parties, particularly regarding donor transfer, AP and Purity testing, and quality analysis.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain business processes and parent seed plans to support licensing activities.
  • Define and execute internal actions for Corteva, ensuring compliance with breeding manual specifications and testing requirements.
  • Identify, list, and characterize third-party roles, facilitating strong partnerships and clarity in responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of seed operations with overall business development strategy.
