About The Position

Grimmway Produce Group is seeking a Seed Operations Manager responsible for all conventional and organic carrot seed operations, including overseeing seed procurement, seed inventories, yield and performance metrics, and variety trials and selection. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Ag Business, Crop Science or related field required with a minimum of 5 years’ post-college experience in the vegetable seed and/or vegetable farming industry preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational and bookkeeping skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Must be metrics driven with a general understanding of farming costs and yields, and the ability to analyze data.
  • Must have knowledge of proper field trial designs, methods, and data collection.
  • Results oriented, ability to set goals and objectives for self and team and take accountability for successful performance of both.
  • Must have the ability to interact with and form meaningful working relationships with all levels of farm personnel, seed industry representatives, and others in government and academia.
  • Must have ability to travel seasonally to all growing areas as necessary. Travel is approximately 50% of the time both locally and out-of-state.
  • Remote work not available for this position.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with clean DMV driving record.
  • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with organic farming a plus.
  • Previous experience with field trial work and/or experience working in the seed industry a plus.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
