About The Position

This role is responsible for achieving annual sales plans and targets for assigned accounts, establishing and nurturing client relationships, and developing account plans and partnerships. The Business Development Director II will also provide weekly sales activity reports, develop client call cycles, and offer general intelligence on key competitors. The position involves selling the business unit’s capabilities and differentiation frameworks, recognizing and communicating sales opportunities for other business units, and setting and managing customer expectations. Collaboration with companywide resources is essential for achieving superior customer satisfaction. The role includes organizing and hosting client visits, evaluating quotations, and using SFDC for internal communication and documentation. Responsibilities also encompass opportunity management, accurate pipeline forecasting, and collaborating with other Fortrea units to identify and win multi-unit projects. The Director will assist in determining margins and pricing with Client Services, participate in proposal scope development, maintain frequent personal contact with clients, and participate in corporate teams to build relationships with key accounts. Leading client presentations and supporting an established client base are also key aspects of this role. Client responsibilities may include domestic, regional, or transatlantic areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in life science or business field preferred.
  • Advanced industry knowledge.
  • Demonstrated client retention skills.
  • Ability to manage difficult client and/or financial situations.
  • Ability to differentiate Fortrea from competitors.
  • Strong working relationship with internal Fortrea management and site leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire and grow client base.
  • 4+ years sales (or relevant) experience selling services directly to the pharmaceutical and biotech section with direct interaction with mid-level and executive level decision makers.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in determining margins and pricing with Client Services.
  • Participates in proposal scope development as appropriate.
