About The Position

The Business Development Coordinator is a versatile, results-driven team member responsible for supporting and growing multiple areas of the organization. This position serves as a cross-functional team member, working across membership, events, merchandise, licensing, sales, partnerships, and special projects to identify opportunities, execute initiatives, and help achieve organizational goals. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, personable, and comfortable shifting priorities based on the needs of the organization. This individual must be equally comfortable planning a banquet, developing a membership retention initiative, managing merchandise inventory, communicating with a potential business partner, supporting a sales opportunity, or taking ownership of a special project from concept through completion. This position requires an entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to ask, “What needs to be done, and how can I help get it across the finish line?” The Business Development Coordinator will work closely with the President and CEO and other departments to strengthen revenue opportunities, increase membership, expand organizational programs, and support the overall growth and success of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, hospitality, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, membership, events, account management, operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong sales, relationship-building, customer-service, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and follow-through skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience working with budgets, vendors, contracts, project timelines, and/or CRM, membership, inventory, or event-management systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Ability to work directly with senior leadership and travel and work occasional evenings and weekends for events and organizational activities; experience with membership organizations, nonprofits, outdoor industries, events, licensing, sponsorships, or partnerships is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to be insurable on SCI policy
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, hunting as an essential part of biologically sound and ethically responsible international wildlife management.
  • Existing knowledge of TTHA’s current programs and mission and be passionate about hunter’s rights.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and pursue new business, revenue-generating, partnership, and program opportunities.
  • Support sales initiatives across membership, events, merchandise, licensing, advertising, sponsorships, and other organizational programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with members, clients, customers, vendors, partners, and prospective business contacts to support retention, growth, and repeat business.
  • Support membership growth and retention through acquisition campaigns, outreach, promotions, referral programs, and other initiatives.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute banquets, receptions, meetings, member gatherings, VIP functions, and other small-to-medium events.
  • Assist with larger organizational events and trade shows, including logistics, registration, vendors, sponsorship fulfillment, and VIP experiences.
  • Manage event timelines, budgets, vendor requirements, guest communications, and other logistical details while evaluating event performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with merchandise inventory management, product research, inventory counts, product performance analysis, and opportunities for new products or retail relationships.
  • Assist in developing and expanding licensing opportunities, including identifying potential partners and product categories and coordinating agreements, renewals, royalties, reporting, and compliance.
  • Prospect for and develop new business relationships through phone, email, meetings, events, networking, and other outreach; coordinate internally to ensure successful fulfillment of sales and partnership commitments.
  • Lead special projects assigned by the President & CEO or senior leadership, taking ownership from concept through implementation and final reporting.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, measurable goals, and follow-up processes for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Work within approved budgets, monitor expenses, obtain competitive pricing, negotiate favorable terms when appropriate, and assist with revenue and expense projections.
  • Research programs, vendors, products, partnerships, and business opportunities; identify operational challenges and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, revenue, member value, or organizational impact.
  • Provide support wherever organizational priorities require additional capacity, maintaining strong follow-through, communication, accountability, and a willingness to step into hands-on work.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Attends meetings, conventions and trade shows as appropriate.
