About The Position

This role provides essential coordination between various teams to support business development efforts. The Business Development Coordinator will act as a liaison between business development staff and Marcomm, Events, water and commercial business units, corporate and regional offices, and operations/collaborative business units. The position involves participating in pursuit capture and collaboration meetings, tracking action items, and ensuring alignment across departments. Administrative and coordination support will be provided to the Business Development team and senior leadership to facilitate daily activities and client relationship management. A key aspect of the role is maintaining accurate data on opportunities, pursuits, and portfolios within internal systems, contributing to reporting and dashboard tracking. The coordinator will also assist with account and opportunity setup, portfolio management, and coordinating pursuit readiness by organizing schedules, resources, budgets, and deliverables. Additionally, the role contributes to proposal and client deliverable development, reviews RFQ/RFP materials, prepares business development materials, organizes meetings and events, monitors pursuit budgets, and performs client and market research.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in construction or the AEC industry.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and editing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM systems preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coordination between business development staff and Marcomm staff as it relates to pursuits.
  • Provide coordination between business development staff and Events staff to drive decision making and increase efficiency.
  • Serve as business development department liaison between water and commercial business units.
  • Serve as business development department liaison between corporate office and regional offices.
  • Serve as liaison between business development staff and operations/collaborative business units.
  • Participate in regional pursuit capture meetings, create and track action items, follow-up execution of action items by those inside and outside business development department to increase alignment.

  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the Business Development team and senior leadership to facilitate daily activities and client relationship management.

  • Assist with account and opportunity setup, along with portfolio management tasks, including managing internal reviews, approvals, and required documentation.
  • Coordinate pursuit readiness by organizing schedules, resources, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring team alignment through consistent communication.
  • Contribute to proposal and client deliverable development by managing content, timelines, and inputs across all involved teams.
  • Review and edit technical and non-technical RFQ/RFP materials for accuracy, consistency, grammar, and professional formatting to ensure compliant submissions.
  • Prepare and format business development materials, including reports, data summaries, schedules, charts, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Organize meetings and events related to client pursuits, both virtual and in-person; assist and attend client meetings, industry events, and account planning efforts.
  • Monitor pursuit budgets and support related reporting and expense tracking.
  • Perform research on clients, markets, and upcoming opportunities to inform account planning and business development strategies.
