About The Position

The Business Development Account Representative serves as the primary liaison between customers and Carpenter, providing comprehensive account management and customer support. This role is responsible for building strong customer relationships, understanding customer needs, resolving account-related issues, and ensuring a high level of service. The representative collaborates closely with internal teams to support scheduling, planning, inventory management, pricing, forecasting, contract review, and technical requirements while driving customer satisfaction and business growth.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions to resolve customer issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business systems.
  • Ability to learn technical products, specifications, and manufacturing processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Two or more years of customer account management, customer service, inside sales, or business development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned customer accounts and serve as the primary point of contact.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of customer requirements and identify effective solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal departments including Sales, Planning, Logistics, Operations, Technical Services, and Finance to resolve customer concerns.
  • Maintain accountability for daily account activities, order management, and customer communications.
  • Support selling strategies through proactive outreach to new and existing customers.
  • Create and maintain customer-specific account documentation and records.
  • Review activity reports and message queues daily to ensure timely follow-up and issue resolution.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction.
  • Engage in departmental and cross-functional training to expand product, process, and systems knowledge.
  • Adhere to all company, quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
