About The Position

Develop new business opportunities and nurture existing business relationships to gain additional business within a specific account list. This includes various business approaches, including cold calling, quote follow-up, creating new marketing campaigns for the assigned accounts, and referring on-site visits to the Engineering Team. This person’s daily activities will be conducted over the phone or through a variety of digital platform interfaces.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Must be highly motivated to succeed!
  • High degree of knowledge of McNaughton-McKay operations and products normally acquired through experience in the electrical distribution industry, including inside sales or engineering.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to make a high volume of effective calls to customer base on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Ability to determine customers’ needs and provide excellent customer service.
  • Must have the initiative and ability to organize, prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Intermediate computer skills with MS Office products required with thorough knowledge of the business system required.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree or a pattern of continuing education is preferred. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree or pattern of pursuing a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new customer accounts; focus on account planning, top key accounts, and facilities.
  • Penetrate existing customer accounts and build relationships within the customers’ organizations.
  • Utilize all available sales, marketing, and engineering resources in the pursuit of new revenue and improved profitability.
  • Establish E-Store accounts including necessary pricing for new and existing accounts.
  • Grow Revenue and Margin on an annual basis with assigned accounts.
  • Handle commercial issues; internal to customers and McNaughton-McKay.
  • Ensure the successful execution of sales initiatives to assigned accounts, including those initiated by McMc and our vendor partners.
  • Respond to customer requests by providing information on product information, price, delivery, expediting, and tracking missing or delayed shipments.
  • Determine, negotiate, and/or communicate pricing (including margins, discounts, payment terms, shipping charges, etc.), delivery terms, shipping instructions or restrictions, anticipated delays, and any additional information requested.
  • Use discretion and judgment when negotiating price to maximize profit margin while meeting the customer’s requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to add-on or up-sell products to customers that may benefit the customer and suggesting alternative products when a customer’s requested product is not available.
  • Attend internal and external training on industry products and systems offered by our vendors.
  • Support the quality initiatives set forth by the region.
