About The Position

This role is for a Business Development Account Executive focused on the Engineering and Manufacturing sector, specifically targeting federal customers. The position involves developing and executing account plans, building relationships with government decision-makers, identifying new opportunities, and leading customer engagement. The executive will work with internal experts to develop solutions, forge strategic partnerships, and conduct financial analysis and forecasting. Responsibilities also include maintaining records in Salesforce, adhering to ethical standards, and traveling up to 50% as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of commercial and/or federal business-development experience.
  • Proven success pursuing and winning contracts, including small and large captures.
  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, technical services, modernization, production, sustainment, or supply-chain opportunities.
  • Knowledge of federal procurement and contract vehicles, including GSA, 8(a), IDIQs, task orders, and full-and-open competitions.
  • Working knowledge of the FAR and federal acquisition processes.
  • Strong customer relationship, communication, presentation, planning, negotiation, and business-development skills.
  • Experience with Shipley or a comparable business-development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Established relationships with DoD, federal civilian agencies, or other related OEM customers that procure engineering and manufacturing services.
  • Experience with systems engineering, manufacturing modernization, production support, supply-chain resilience, quality management, lifecycle sustainment, or technical-data management.
  • Experience developing partnerships with engineering firms, manufacturers, systems integrators, and technical subcontractors.
  • Experience using 8(a), tribal, small-business, or other socioeconomic contracting strategies.
  • Experience with wire harnesses, electrical systems, machining and metal-fabricated products.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Nice To Haves

  • A Top Secret clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute account plans, growth strategies, and pipeline targets for assigned federal customers.
  • Build relationships with government decision-makers, contracting offices, program managers, technical stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Identify and qualify new opportunities across engineering, manufacturing, production, modernization, sustainment, and related technical-service markets.
  • Lead customer engagement, opportunity shaping, teaming, and capture strategy development.
  • Work with operations and technical subject-matter experts to develop differentiated and executable solutions.
  • Develop strategic partnerships, teaming agreements, and subcontracting opportunities.
  • Monitor customer priorities, budgets, acquisition plans, and market trends.
  • Conduct pipeline forecasting, financial analysis, and opportunity assessments.
  • Brief leadership on account plans, pipeline status, capture progress, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Apply the Shipley Business Development Lifecycle to pursuit and capture activities.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and activity records in Salesforce.
  • Follow all ethics, procurement-integrity, and government-interaction requirements.
  • Travel up to 50% as business needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
