About The Position

Dragonfly Pond Works is seeking a Business Developer to drive growth by identifying new opportunities, nurturing relationships, and expanding our stormwater maintenance services. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who understands environmental services and thrives on building meaningful client partnerships. Dragonfly Pond Works is a leading environmental service company specializing in stormwater management. Since 2006, Dragonfly has provided routine maintenance and repairs on stormwater devices, lakes, ponds, wetlands, and underground facilities. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management-preferably in environmental, construction, or stormwater industries.
  • Strong understanding of stormwater systems, maintenance practices, and environmental regulations (NPDES, MS4, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the stormwater maintenance and environmental services sectors.
  • Pursue new leads generated by client referrals, marketing campaigns, and tradeshows.
  • Identify and target potential clients through research, networking, and data mining.
  • Connect with key decision-makers via phone, email, and in-person meetings to build strong relationships.
  • Prepare and present accurate estimates, proposals, and service agreements for new and existing clients.
  • Recommend and upsell additional stormwater maintenance or repair services to current clients.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of prospects and opportunities using CRM tools.
  • Promote Dragonfly Pond Works' mission and services at industry events, conferences, and community meetings.
  • Develop and implement relationship-building programs such as site meetings, educational presentations, and lunch & learns.
  • Collaborate with operations and inspection teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure timely communication, follow-ups, and service coordination for assigned accounts.
  • Contribute to developing annual growth targets, marketing initiatives, and regional sales strategies.
  • Track and analyze market trends, competitors, and regulatory changes affecting stormwater compliance.
  • Maintain detailed records of leads, activities, and opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates, forecasts, and reports to leadership.
