About The Position

The position of Business Deposit Specialist is responsible for performing duties and support relating to commercial operational activities and financial services; processing new account applications, support branch personnel and inquiring members with deposit knowledge and financial services; cash management products; cross selling the Credit Unions products and services; opening, maintaining, and closing of all account types’ performing miscellaneous clerical duties; promoting business for the Credit Union by maintaining excellent member relations and referring members to appropriate staff for services. Provide excellent member service, engage members in conversations, and build relationships with them. Accurately, with attention to detail, takes business new account applications by phone, video or online, ensuring that all CCU and compliance policies, guidelines and regulations are being followed and adhered to. Actively manages his/her new account pipeline, ensuring that Member account requests are addressed and opened in a timely manner. Ensures all cross-sell opportunities are presented by applying professional sales techniques with commercial members. Interviews members to obtain information; establishes proper documentation and identification of members for proper account setup. Discusses, prepares, and processes documents related to the Credit Union’s internet banking services, ACH, ScanCheck and Online Wire Services. Discusses and submits merchant services referrals for inquiring members. Ongoing management of members’ needs including making recommendations to members as it relates to their account transactions and activities. Assist members with transactions, account discrepancies, authentication, and research as needed. Ability to attain goals as set by Management on a consistent and continual basis. Establishes, maintains, and manages an effective advisory and service environment through the member engagement model. Proactively communicates with members to demonstrate possible alternative methods of product and service delivery to increase usage. Applies financial acumen, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to meet team members’ and member’s needs. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of credit unions products and services. Coordinates system training and implementation with members as needed. Provides support for members as it relates to cash management and other deposit related services. Assists with ACH, online wire, and check scanning requests as needed. Produces quality work efficiently and free from errors. Communicates critical issues to management as it relates to member system issues. Follows guidelines and policies such as Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act and Office of Foreign Assets Control, CIP, Reg CC, B, D, E and Z intended to limit risk and exposure for the organization and its members. Types of risk include fraudulent transactions, account fraud or mishandling, compliance with policies, security guidelines, and the organization’s reputation. Ensures verification methods are followed for all transactions. Ensures compliance with all banking laws and regulations and requires the same of all staff through continuous compliance training. Ensures documentation and/or reporting of all applicable transactions is within accepted quality standards of completeness and accuracy. Limits bank losses and overall exposure. Presents a professional image and interacts well with the public and all levels of credit union personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
