Nex is experiencing rapid user growth, leading to a significant increase in data volume. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Data Engineer to join our Analytics department. This role will be instrumental in streamlining, future-proofing, and automating our reporting processes and data backend to support the company's next phase of growth. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who enjoys tinkering and finds satisfaction in resolving complex issues. Strong attention to detail and follow-through are essential. Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or 5+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence Engineer.
- Experience with the AWS suite of tools and solutions for end-to-end data environment management.
- Proven ability to work independently without constant guidance.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments that require iteration and investigation.
- Strong track record of working with cross-functional teams across disciplines such as marketing, product, engineering, and finance/accounting.
Nice To Haves
- Experience automating complex datasets using SQL, Python, or similar tools.
- Experience building and maintaining APIs to connect data environments and pull raw data from various sources.
- Previous experience with data environments for digital gaming platforms or subscription services.
- Ability to thrive and create without the use of AI tools as a baseline.
Responsibilities
- Connect with cross-functional teams (Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Publishing) to understand their needs and build data solutions they can use long-term.
- Manage and prioritize short-term and long-term projects.
- Build new and improve existing methods for data access and visualization, ensuring their ongoing functionality.
- Investigate and implement small improvements to enhance the cost-effectiveness and reliability of the data pipeline.
