About The Position

Seeking an experienced Business Analyst/Data Analyst to support large-scale enterprise technology and data initiatives. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, application teams, and reporting teams to gather requirements, analyze business processes and data, and translate business needs into clear functional and technical documentation.

Requirements

10+ years of professional experience with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Data Analyst in a formal enterprise SDLC environment.
Experience supporting state government or other large enterprise organizations.
8+ years of experience documenting business processes, including as-is/to-be workflows and data-flow diagrams.
8+ years of experience with data profiling, validation, data definitions, and business-rule documentation.
8+ years of hands-on experience writing and interpreting complex SQL queries.
8+ years of extensive stakeholder engagement and requirements elicitation.
8+ years of experience creating BRDs and functional/data requirements for technical teams.
8+ years of experience defining metrics, KPIs, report specifications, and data-sourcing requirements.
8+ years of experience performing gap analysis.
8+ years of experience supporting UAT and developing test scenarios and test cases.

Nice To Haves

Experience with data governance, data lineage, and source-to-target mapping.
Project management experience.
PMP certification.
Experience working across architecture, application delivery, production support, data engineering, and reporting teams.

Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, validate, and document business and data requirements.
Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements-gathering sessions.
Create business requirements documents, functional requirements, business rules, and process documentation.
Develop current-state and future-state process flows and data-flow diagrams.
Perform data profiling, validation, source-to-target mapping, and data-quality analysis.
Write and interpret complex SQL queries involving joins, aggregations, and relational databases.
Define data elements, business definitions, data dictionaries, and data lineage.
Establish business measures, reporting metrics, and KPIs.
Work with reporting and analytics teams to define report specifications and data-sourcing requirements.
Perform gap analysis between current processes or data and desired future-state outcomes.
Support data governance and enterprise reporting initiatives.
Develop UAT scenarios and test cases based on documented requirements.
Present solution options, risks, cost-benefit considerations, and recommendations.
Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams throughout the SDLC.
