About The Position

The USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences is seeking a Business Data Analyst in the Dornsife Business Office. The Business Data Analyst is central to the Decision Support Department, providing the strategic foundation necessary for the school's growth and success. This role plays a critical strategic and operational support function by conducting rigorous quantitative analysis. The Analyst will deliver data-driven insights to the executive leadership and operational units, ensuring that all key decisions are informed, effective, and fully aligned with the school's strategic mission and long-term objectives.

Requirements

  • Proficient PC skills.
  • Working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, word processing and statistical software programs.
  • Knowledge of business statistics and data analyses techniques.
  • Ability to manage and analyze data.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of professional data analysis experience.
  • Expertise in Financial, Human Resources, student, or similar enterprise datasets.
  • Highly proficient in data visualization using Tableau.
  • Skilled in data wrangling/transformation techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Python (or R) for data analysis and scripting.
  • Solid understanding of database structures (SQL) and data collection methodologies (e.g., surveys, tests).
  • Background in Data Analytics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
  • Familiarity with the Workday system is a plus.
