About The Position

The employee occupying this position will provide office clerical and administrative support for the Business Council. Must be able to work with the public, be neat, tactful, and courteous; and have office and administrative skills.

Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Must have 3+ years of recent documented administrative or related work experience.
  • Must be able to pass a Washington State Criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid Washington State driver license, a good driving record and be insurable.
  • Must be able to and willing to follow oral and written directions and instructions of immediate supervisor.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must have a positive, professional and friendly demeanor with a customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets (MSWord, Excel).
  • Must know how to generally operate multiple line telephones, copy machines, etc.
  • Work requires continual attention in detail accurate filing, proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, travel, and Business Committee activities.
  • Prepare agendas, briefing papers, executive summaries, reports, and meeting materials.
  • Organize, file, scan, index, and maintain Business Committee records and archives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for phone calls, correspondence, and inquiries.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information in accordance with Tribal confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely and accurate distribution.
  • Greet community members, guests, partner agencies, and the public in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Assist with the preparation, distribution, and retention of Business Committee packets, resolutions, reports, and official records.
  • Work independently and collaboratively on special projects, research assignments, and ongoing administrative functions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Tribal departments, community members, elected officials, and external partners.
  • Ability to adapt and shift workload to meet urgent demands of supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
