About The Position

As the first line of defense, this role designs, develops, and manages data reporting needs within the Front-Line Business Controls team. The associate will partner with Risk Strategies and Testing teams to understand data needs aligned to ongoing risk assessments and monitoring. This role involves synthesizing data into business intelligence by developing and presenting information and insights. Utilizing data analysis competencies and business knowledge, the associate will build meaningful reporting and tools to help Business Controls identify, quantify, and assess business processes. The role serves as a thought-leader, bridging the gap between Bancorp business processes and data analytics solutions. The associate is responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Analytics preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience performing analytics with tools such as SAS, Python, Tableau, Business Objects, ACL, FOCUS, and/or Cognos.
  • 5-7 years of financial services industry, risk, business controls or compliance experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present technical results and their business impact.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills while working within teams, maintaining professional composure.
  • Ability to maintain objectivity and apply logical/critical thought processes when developing solutions.
  • Analytical ability to delve into detail while maintaining a broader business perspective on issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and understand various applications and business intelligence/database tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and other related applications.
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully perform reporting and analytics.
  • Build and analyze data to enable proactive solutions and to enhance the performance of our Business Controls Risk Strategies and Testing teams.
  • Partner with the Business Controls Risk Strategies and Testing teams to understand current risk assessments and risk program processes to aid in the data strategy.
  • Partner with other reporting, analytics, and technology teams to access or obtain data necessary for reporting.
  • Provide relevant expertise in data analysis to stakeholders related to the identification, assessment, control, monitoring, testing, and reporting of risks.
  • Manipulate large data files and transform the data into business information that helps Front Line Business Controls teams fulfill strategic objectives.
  • Build effective relationships with other internal business control groups and the second and third lines of defense (such as Legal, Compliance, Enterprise Risk, and Audit).
  • Implement solutions that would include exception and trend reporting for proactive risk and/or fraud identification, as well as automated control testing.
  • Manage data quality and integrity.
  • Data conversion validation.
  • Data quality monitoring.
