About The Position

iCapital is seeking a Business Control Assistant Vice President to strengthen the firm’s operational foundation by embedding a robust first line of defense (1LOD) business control framework. This individual will help identify risk across key operational workflows, translate risks into practical preventive and detective controls, and ensure controls are documented, evidenced, stored and operating effectively to support operational excellence and regulatory compliance. This is a highly collaborative role offering the opportunity to influence the evolution of the firm's control environment while taking on increasing responsibility as the organization grows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business controls, risk management, operations, or data driven operational roles; experience in fintech, wealth management or financial services is preferred
  • Experience with alternative investments and related operational workflows is required and familiar with regulatory frameworks
  • Proficient in PowerPoint (or equivalent) to create clear, executive-ready presentations, dashboards, and governance materials
  • Experience supporting governance and oversight routines, including committee materials, management reporting, audit and regulatory readiness, and maintaining an effective control framework
  • Knowledge of operational risk frameworks (RCSAs, KRIs, issue management, control testing) and how they are applied in a 1LOD environment
  • Able to interpret data, identify patterns, and translate insights into operational or control improvements.
  • Understanding of control frameworks, operational risk concepts, and 1LOD/2LOD responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills with experience working collaboratively with operations, compliance, product, and technology teams

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, documentation, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of business processes, controls, SOPs, and control inventories.
  • Create and execute recurring control activities, including evidence collection, sampling, quality reviews, and control testing.
  • Partner with the Operations teams to design and implement controls that support key operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Track and evaluate strategic initiatives, control effectiveness, issues, and remediation efforts against operational and risk objectives.
  • Prepare governance materials, dashboards, metrics, and control performance reporting for senior leadership.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation repositories with strong version control and support readiness for audits, regulatory exams, and internal reviews.
  • Analyze operational, risk, and business data to identify trends, control gaps, process inefficiencies, and root causes.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and key metrics (KRIs and KCIs) to support governance and decision-making.
  • Partner with the Operations, Product, Analytics teams, and other stakeholders to improve data quality and strengthen data pipelines supporting control activities.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses using SQL, Excel, or BI tools to support operational reviews, issue management, and risk assessments.
  • Support incident management through root cause analysis, remediation planning, tracking, and validation of corrective actions.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows, standardize processes, reduce manual touchpoints, and automate control activities.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives that enhance scalability, operational resilience, customer experience, and transparency.
  • Build subject matter expertise in the company's operational processes, systems, data, and interdependence.

Benefits

  • The base salary range for this role is $110,000 to $145,000.
