About The Position

We are seeking a Middle & High School Business & Computer Science Teacher for The Renaissance Academy in Phoenixville, PA. The ideal candidate will be a professional, leader, and learner who models and facilitates learning for students while maintaining a safe and secure environment. Requirements

PA Valid Teaching Certificate in Content/Grade area
Demonstrates a vested interest in the success, future and Vision of The Renaissance Academy
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Pedagogical skills in literacy and numeracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

Monitor and hold students accountable regarding classroom deadlines, expectations, and goals/norms.
Provide rigorous and challenging activities and lessons, differentiating instruction to support all learners.
Post and review daily learning objectives and agenda with students in relation to curriculum objectives.
Conduct a warm-up (Do Now) and closing activity each class period.
Return parental or student communication within 48 hours.
Assign homework and outside learning activities as needed to reinforce instruction and prepare students for future learning.
Provide guidance toward student goal setting, monitoring of grades, and follow-up on RTII needs.
Communicate with co-teachers, team members, or administration regarding student needs.
Communicate with parents regarding student success and needs.
Update gradebooks.
Assess students frequently using formative and summative assessments.
Report concerns and accomplishments to their lead teacher.
Attend staff meetings once a month.
Attend departmental meetings once a month.
Make positive phone calls/emails home to students.
Participate in year-long planning by setting house team goals.
Review team Professional Growth Plan with Lead Teacher and Team Members.
Develop SLC comments and student goals.
Participate in SLC conferences.
Attend a variety of events, performances & family involvement opportunities throughout the school year.
Complete End of Year evaluation for Lead Team Member and Admin.
Establish year-long personal professional goals.
Document progress on professional goals and present to team and administrators.
Call all Homebase students at the start of the year (if applicable).
Plan strategically for the long-term and daily learning of their students.
Be accountable for the achievement of NWEA growth targets for their students.
Be responsible for the quality of Teaching and Learning in their classroom, striving for the best outcomes.
Provide a challenge to each student, each day.
