About The Position

This position is responsible for the acquisition, expansion and retention of new Payment business, including Merchant, Treasury Management and Card products. A large component of the role is dedicated and focused on outside sales and proactive prospecting, with a strong focus on acquiring new business clients. The role involves contacting existing and prospective clients to provide consultative advice on the business cash conversion cycle, working capital management and internal processes to develop Payment business. In collaboration with Business Banking Relationship Managers, the consultant will manage relationships with existing clients to ensure proper servicing and structure of accounts and to expand existing business. The role also includes conducting receivables and payables business operating cycle analyses, providing consultative and insightful feedback, and recommending product/service solutions to create process efficiencies and provide other business flow benefits. Leveraging available resources and technologies to optimize the client experience and serve clients with operational excellence and accuracy is key. The consultant will be expected to meet or exceed assigned sales and revenue goals and retention objectives. They may also assist in structuring new or modified Payment services and oversee their implementation. Building relationships in the community, engaging with local organizations, and identifying business development opportunities are also important aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Five to seven years of related experience
  • Proven sales, prospecting and new business development skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Treasury Management and Payments
  • Strong client service and relationship skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Active listening and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to teach customers how to use digital technology

Responsibilities

  • Acquisition, expansion, and retention of new Payment business, including Merchant, Treasury Management, and Card products.
  • Outside sales and proactive prospecting with a strong focus on acquiring new business clients.
  • Contacting existing and prospective clients to provide consultative advice on business cash conversion cycle, working capital management, and internal processes to develop Payment business.
  • Collaborating with Business Banking Relationship Managers to manage existing client relationships, ensure proper servicing and account structure, and expand existing business.
  • Conducting receivables and payables business operating cycle analyses for client and prospective client relationships.
  • Providing consultative and insightful feedback to clients.
  • Recommending products/services to create process efficiencies and provide other business flow benefits to clients or prospects.
  • Leveraging available resources and technologies to optimize the client experience and serve clients with operational excellence and accuracy.
  • Meeting or exceeding assigned sales and revenue goals and retention objectives.
  • Assisting in the structuring of new or modified Payment services and overseeing the proper implementation of those services.
  • Building relationships in the community and engaging with local organizations.
