About The Position

This position may be filled as a Level I or II, with additional responsibilities and qualifications applying to Level II. The role provides day-to-day technical support for Business Banking Relationship Managers in serving clients and prospects regarding loans, deposits, investments, trusts, and insurance products. Support is offered in all aspects of the business banking process, including successful loan closings and post-closing portfolio management. The Level II position utilizes advanced knowledge of commercial lending practices for more complex portfolio management, loan documentation perfection, and technical assistance to ensure timely and accurate coordination of reviews, renewals, modifications, exceptions, and compliance resolution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience as a business banking assistant or relevant general banking or general assistant experience (Level I)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Business Banking Assistant I or proven equivalent (Level II)
  • Accounting and mathematical aptitude

  • Good organizational skills with demonstrable ability to multitask (Level I)

  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other bank systems (such as nCino, OnDemand, Outlook) necessary to perform tasks (Level II)
  • Must be able to exercise confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Knowledge of advanced banking and commercial lending procedures and practices (Level II)
  • Familiarity with legal concepts involving commercial lending and knowledge of when and whom to forward escalated concerns (Level II)
  • Functional understanding of UCCs, Deeds of Trust, Borrowing Base Certificates, Letters of Credit, and Sweep Accounts (Level II)

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year degree with business administration emphasis preferred
  • Knowledge of general banking and business banking procedures and practices preferred
  • College degree preferred (Level II)

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the department, including answering phones, coordinating calendars, scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence and reports, ordering supplies, and preparing expense reports.
  • Gather information and prepare loan applications, disburse loan advances, quote payoffs, order credit reports, collect and review documentation for accuracy and compliance, manage exception lists, work with Relationship Managers on collateral releases, complete UCC filings, and prepare Letters of Credit applications.
  • Interface with other departments such as Loan Operations, Central Document Processing, Wire Transfer, Treasury Services, Trust, Compliance, Credit Analysis, and the Legal Department.
  • Assist customers with general banking functions post-close, including fund transfers, wires, and balancing accounts.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all clients, internally and externally.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
