About The Position

The Business Banker position is dedicated to acquiring, growing, and retaining business banking clients through focused research, call planning, call execution, and relationship building. The role concentrates on C&I and Owner-Occupied Real Estate relationships with businesses that demonstrate Revenues of $5 million, Total Credit Exposure of $1 million, with minimum 3-years in business. Key measurements of success are new deposit and loan production, calling efforts, overall relationship acquisition, portfolio management and referrals to other lines of business. Pay is commensurate to experience. This position position requires full-time hours Monday through Friday.   • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting or 2-5 years of experience of relevant job experience as a Business Banker.
  • Developed accounting, finance, credit, and sales skills.
  • Proven track record of prospecting new business and enhancing existing relationships.
  • Proven sales skills and experience.
  • The ability to cross sell bank products with an emphasis on relationship banking is required.
  • Knowledgeable in a wide range of Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Proficient with Fiserv, nCino and other bank programs.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of all required compliance training such as BSA, Information Security, and other job specific training as assigned.
  • Complies as required with relevant Bank policies and procedures related to BSA, including capture of required CIP, Customer Due Diligence, and Beneficial Ownership data as well as informing management and compliance staff of potential suspicious activities or elevated risk related to specific clients.
  • The responsibility to acquire and maintain the required knowledge of State and Federal Banking regulations and policies.

  • Experience in the Metro Atlanta market required for better understanding of the banking environment and potential customer base is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strategic focus on business banking client activity through calling efforts and relational selling as a trusted advisor to assist the client in recognizing opportunities and risks while helping them accomplish their goals through the use of bank products and services.
  • Analyzes each new relationship opportunity for Small Business Lending Suite of products, with respect to the Bank’s cost, risk, and profitability.
  • Adhere to loan policies and procedures with complete documented files to ensure satisfactory reviews from internal and external audits.
  • Actively cross sell other bank products to include deposits products and treasury management services to build profitable client relationships.
  • Collaboration with Team Lead and Business Banking team members to create and manage a targeted calling list based on market research, referrals, and internal leads.
  • Proactively engage prospective and existing business clients through outbound meetings, outbound phone calls, emails, and follow-ups.
  • Focused understanding of the Bank’s goals and how individual Business Banker contributions support the team goals.
  • Focused understanding of the significance of Deposit acquisition for the Bank, and ability to contribute toward deposit growth objectives leveraging the Bank’s Business Banking product line.
  • Detailed understanding of the Bank’s highly competitive Small Business Lending suite of products and services.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of new calling opportunities and new business opportunities including deposits, lending, and treasury services.
  • Focused priority of building lasting relationships with clients and prospects through continued calling efforts, multiple touch points, and consistent transparent communication.
  • Remain active in the community through membership in business organizations, community events and/or non-profit organizations where one can be in a position to advance the reputation and brand of the Bank.
  • Ability to meet individual goals and contribute to a team-oriented environment to ensure departmental and Bank wide goals are met.
  • Sets and achieves challenging goals without direct supervision and contributes to a positive team spirit.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to clients and other employees in the organization.
