About The Position

As a Business Banker, you will be responsible for soliciting, developing, and managing profitable financial relationships with complex business and professional customers. This role includes originating and structuring loans with minimal supervision, while thoughtfully managing risk before and after the extension of credit. You will serve as a relationship manager, partnering with teams across the Bank to deliver solutions that meet customer needs and support long-term success. This position requires a high level of self-motivation, sound judgment, and the ability to make independent decisions, while consistently looking for opportunities to add value beyond customers’ immediate needs. Requirements

  • Secondary education in related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of relevant work experience or a combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet accountabilities and required competencies of the position.
  • Minimum of six years of business lending experience with major credits preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Goal-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong listening and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to conduct relationships in a manner that ensures cooperation and positive results.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of concern for professional and innovative customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and grow both new and existing customers' loan and deposit relationships.
  • Strategize with Team Leader & others on strategic selling campaigns, behaviors, and prospecting efforts; outbound sales efforts are strategically planned and executed to help ensure meaningful growth.
  • Engagement in current and future sales campaigns with documented out-bound calling efforts.
  • Growth opportunities are well documented in Salesforce to provide measurable reports for Management.
  • Inter-Bank referrals are consistently sought, executed upon and documented in Salesforce.
  • Develop and maintain an active list of Banking prospects.
  • Plan, prepare & execute on appropriate next steps to position yourself for increased business opportunities.
  • Seek appropriate business partners to maximize effectiveness of calling efforts.
  • Review current relationships for cross-selling opportunities within and beyond Business Banking.
  • Provide excellent relationship service to current relationships within your portfolio.
  • Convey sound financial advice and summary on financial performance for current customers based on experiences, education, and industry knowledge.
  • Act as a servant for current customers to ensure they are receiving superior customer service on all financial products and services provided by Bank.
  • Display true ownership of portfolio quality measured by proper compliance with Bank’s Loan Policy & Guidelines.
  • Maintain tickler exceptions at <15% with minimal and appropriate extension requests.
  • Credit file deviations are kept to a minimum.
  • Construction projects are administered and monitored appropriately to ensure project risk is sufficiently mitigated.
  • Customer Financial Statements are thoroughly reviewed to ensure proper Risk Ratings are maintained.
  • Findings by Credit Review are resolved or addressed without oversight from Management.
  • Loan Covenants are appropriately monitored.
  • Represent Bank at appropriate business community events to engage with current & prospective business customers & business leaders.
  • Develop and maintain strategic engagement in the local business community to create and develop professional relationships.
  • Maintain consistent attendance at community business events to represent FNBSF in a positive manner.
