About The Position

Life Flight Network is a prominent not-for-profit air ambulance organization focused on safety, excellence, social justice, and innovation. The Business Area Manager (BAM) works with the Director(s) of Business Development to promote the growth and sustainability of Life Flight Network service lines through proactive, industry-leading service delivery and customer education, while promoting exceptional customer experiences. A BAM must hold an operational position with LFN as a Flight Nurse, Flight Paramedic, or Flight Respiratory Therapist, though this can be waived with significant air medical experience in business, outreach, and development. The BAM will maintain an operational position consisting of one shift per pay period, ensuring operational proficiency in their respective specialty and adhering to the Crew Safe Weight Policy. The role also requires driving personal or company vehicles as needed for business purposes.

Requirements

  • Must hold an operational position with LFN as a Flight Nurse, Flight Paramedic, or Flight Respiratory Therapist (may be waived with significant experience in air medical as related to business, area outreach, and development).
  • Maintain an operational position consisting of 24 hours of operational time per pay period, unless prior written exemption is approved by CBO.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Teams applications.
  • Available to work on short notice in the event of staffing/scheduling issues and business development needs, including weekends, holidays and evenings.
  • Ability to analyze business and customer needs, improve external operational workflows, and recognize business related opportunities.
  • Ability to create and deliver clinical and aviation-related customer focused education and outreach.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have access to an automobile in good repair.
  • Must be able to provide proof of auto insurance.
  • Must meet LFN’s Driver’s Policy Requirements.
  • Must reside within 60 miles or 60-minute commute of designated service area, unless prior written exemption is approved by CBO.
  • All candidates are subject to drug screening and background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, aviation management, business administration or a related field.
  • 2-3 years managerial experience in EMS, Air Medical, Healthcare or related field.
  • Experience with air medical transport.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including outstanding written and verbal communication with peers, patients, families, customers and the community.
  • Knowledge of business development specific to healthcare, air medical or EMS environment.
  • Operational background preferred.
  • Meet minimum qualifications of applicable job specialty.

  • Identify barriers and opportunities to improve overall customer experience, growth, development, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with other Life Flight Network team members and leadership.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our partners' capabilities, geographical challenges, and transport limitations to effectively evaluate transport data and analyze trends to support customer success.
  • Apply data-driven solutions to improve processes that ensure our partners and customers have access to industry-leading care and transport.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities for growth.
  • Foster new and ongoing customer relationships.
  • Continuously evaluate processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and be accessible to partners.
  • Actively participate in local, state, and national boards and councils to promote our mission and values.
  • Ensure ease of use and accountability to provide customers with high value and service excellence.
  • Use customer surveys and open customer dialogue to exceed customer expectations for innovative problem-solving and service excellence.
  • Model Life Flight Network’s Safety, Quality, and Service Excellence culture in everyday interactions with partners.
  • Model company policy and best practices for Life Flight Network’s employees.
  • Act as the face of Life Flight Network when collaborating or communicating with other healthcare, EMS, law enforcement or local government leaders.
