About The Position

Syscon, Inc. is seeking a Business Applications Consultant to assist clients in understanding their data, improving reporting and workflows, and maximizing the value of their technology. This client-facing role focuses on reporting, automation, business applications, process improvement, and emerging technology, with a particular emphasis on AI. Experience supporting construction businesses is highly valued. The ideal candidate is curious, learns quickly, and can translate new tools into practical business value. Requirements

• At least three years of experience supporting business applications, ERP systems, reporting, business intelligence, automation, or technology consulting
• Hands on experience with Microsoft Power BI
• Experience with Microsoft Power Automate or comparable workflow automation tools
• Working knowledge of SQL and SQL Server
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience working directly with business users or clients to understand business needs, data, reporting, or workflow challenges
• Experience training or supporting end users on business applications, reporting, workflows, or technology tools
• Ability to translate business needs into practical reporting, workflow, or technology improvements
• Ability to independently research, test, and apply new tools and technology
• Comfort working through ambiguity, asking good questions, and moving work forward without needing every step defined
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication, organization, follow through, and client service skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of commitments
• Curiosity about AI and emerging technology, along with a willingness to continually build your knowledge
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, MIS, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with clients to understand business challenges and improve processes, reporting, workflows, and technology adoption
• Build Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions that help clients better understand their business
• Create workflow automations using Microsoft Power Platform tools
• Identify practical opportunities to use AI enabled tools and automation to improve client operations
• Deploy reports and business solutions within Sage 100 Contractor and Acumatica
• Support Syscon's custom built business applications
• Train and support end users through implementations and ongoing consulting
• Translate business needs into clear reporting, workflow, and application requirements
• Troubleshoot application, reporting, workflow, and data related issues
• Collaborate with developers, consultants, and other Syscon team members to deliver complete business solutions
• Document client requirements, workflows, procedures, and recommendations
• Manage multiple client priorities while providing clear communication, follow through, and timely resolution
• Continuously build your knowledge and share what you learn with clients and the Syscon team
