About The Position

The Business Applications Analyst I role focuses on the intersection of curriculum, academic policy, and technology, specifically within the Campus Solutions Degree Audit module. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving complex problems to support student success. This position involves translating university curriculum and academic policies into system logic, ensuring degree audits are accurate, developing reports, and collaborating with various campus partners to enhance the degree audit system. The role requires a blend of analytical thinking, technical configuration, quality assurance, and customer support, working closely with academic units, the Office of the Registrar, and Information Technology.

Requirements

  • Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree in business, management information systems, or related field.
  • One to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in the business functional area and/or enterprise software development and/or testing.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience configuring or supporting the Campus Solutions Degree Audit module or another enterprise degree audit system.
  • Experience interpreting curriculum, catalog requirements, and academic policies and translating them into system functionality.
  • Experience supporting PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, including testing and implementation of PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) releases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience developing reports, validating data, and performing quality assurance testing.

  • Experience documenting business processes, functional specifications, and system procedures.

  • Experience supporting software implementations, system enhancements, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Build and Maintain Campus Solutions Degree Audit: Configure, maintain, and enhance the Campus Solutions Degree Audit module for undergraduate and graduate academic programs.
  • Translate approved curriculum and academic policies into accurate system logic and functional requirements.
  • Implement curriculum changes approved through the University Committee on Curriculum (UCC) and other academic governance processes.
  • Ensure Campus Solutions Degree Audit accurately evaluates student progress toward degree completion.
  • Ensure Quality and Accuracy: Develop and execute functional test plans for degree audit changes, system enhancements, and PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) releases.
  • Validate degree audit functionality following PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) updates and other system enhancements.
  • Develop reports that monitor audit accuracy, curriculum implementation, and operational effectiveness.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies affecting degree audit accuracy.
  • Maintain documentation for degree audit configuration, business rules, testing procedures, and functional specifications.
  • Support and Partner with Campus: Serve as the primary functional resource for Campus Solutions Degree Audit questions from colleges, advisors, faculty, and Registrar staff.
  • Collaborate with academic units and Information Technology to evaluate business needs and implement system improvements.
  • Provide guidance on degree audit functionality, academic requirements, and best practices.
  • Develop user documentation and educational resources that promote effective use of Campus Solutions Degree Audit.
  • Improve Systems and Processes: Analyze business processes related to curriculum implementation and degree audit maintenance.
  • Recommend improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, and data integrity.
  • Participate in enterprise system projects, PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop reports and analytical tools that improve operational decision-making and support institutional priorities.
