About The Position

The Business Application Developer provides support throughout the application development process, including business analysis, architecture, design, development, integration, and delivery for applications supporting company administrative and operational functions or serving customers. The role also provides application maintenance and support. The developer works with clients, business analysts, and team members on moderately complex to complex programming projects. Duties include defining business processes, gathering requirements, writing and testing code, debugging, documenting and maintaining applications, and identifying coding errors through formal and informal testing. The role applies SDLC concepts to ensure application integrity and provides ongoing application maintenance. The position documents module functions and changes, test activities and results, identifies technical requirements, prepares technical design specifications, and assists with sizing requirements. It may participate in project planning and help identify data-feed sources and interfaces. The developer designs reports and interfaces using advanced queries and software solutions and maintains existing reports and process automation tools. The role adheres to standards and procedures, reviews modules for quality assurance, evaluates existing applications and platforms, and recommends performance improvements based on gap analysis and feasible alternatives. It also researches application packages, tools, and best practices, recommends solutions as needed, and provides technical coaching and mentoring to less-experienced team members. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Three years of advanced programming techniques and application design experience.
Experience in systems design and a solid understanding of development, database development, testing, and integration methodologies.
Analytical and systems-thinking abilities.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently or within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
Project management experience preferred.
Three years of .NET experience.

Responsibilities

Support all phases of application development, including business analysis, architecture, design, development, integration, and delivery.
Provide maintenance and support for business applications.
Work with clients, business analysts, and team members on moderately complex to complex programming projects.
Define business processes and gather project requirements.
Write, test, debug, document, and maintain computer applications.
Identify coding errors through informal and formal testing methods and apply SDLC concepts to ensure application integrity.
Document functions and changes to new or modified modules, as well as test activities and results.
Identify technical requirements, create technical design specifications, and assist with sizing technical requirements as needed.
Participate in project planning processes as needed.
Support identification of data-feed sources and interfaces as needed.
Design reports and interfaces using advanced queries and software solutions.
Maintain existing reports and process automation tools.
Adhere to standards and procedures and review modules for quality assurance.
