About The Position

This role is responsible for identifying, documenting, and validating current state processes and designing the desired future state target operating model (TOM). The analyst will provide recommendations and/or direction based on the end-to-end customer experience when making decisions. Key responsibilities include leading, analyzing, documenting, and managing requirements with stakeholders, prioritizing requirements, and managing end-to-end traceability. The role also involves planning for people and process changes, coordinating with impacted stakeholders, and executing change plans. Functional testing efforts, including in-sprint testing, business acceptance testing (BAT), production acceptance testing (PAT), and post-production validations, are also a core part of this position. The analyst will manage the creation, review, and sign-off of testing documentation and review business & system requirements and system design documents to create test cases. Executing test cases, documenting actual results, assisting in defining test data and test environment requirements, and logging defects are also key duties. The role requires effective communication of product changes and backlog priorities to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of applications supported by the team including system components, functionality, interfaces, data flows, and business rules.
  • Advanced knowledge of bank's PDLC methodology, business testing and project management.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate with various business partners to explain complex technical issues with a business lens in easily understandable terms.
  • Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Substantial knowledge of SWIFT messages, ISO20022, MX and MT formats.
  • Knowledge of non-wire payment methods like drafts and checks.
  • Understanding of payment systems and methods such as Canada Lynx, US CHIPS, and FedWire, etc.
  • Experience with payment data, canonical models, and payment data mapping.
  • Understanding of deposit sub-ledger capabilities (like account management, transaction posting, multi-currency handling, interest calculations, liquidity management, controls, and reporting) to drive/ support deposits transformation, an asset.
  • Familiarity with various accounts (Nostro, Vostro, Corporate Customer), and integration of payments services with correspondent account processing, an asset.
  • Understanding of the interaction between payments and deposits operating models and how these serve client needs and use cases.
  • Ability to create and document Target Operating Models (TOMs) and define how opportunities and challenges will be delivered through these TOMs.
  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate.
  • 5+ years relevant experience.
  • 5+ years in Project Management, Product Owner, Testing Practices, and/or Agile delivery experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form and bridge the gap between business users and their technical requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships across business and technology partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as PMP, Agile Certified Practitioner, or Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) are assets.
  • Understanding of deposit sub-ledger capabilities (like account management, transaction posting, multi-currency handling, interest calculations, liquidity management, controls, and reporting) to drive/ support deposits transformation, an asset.
  • Familiarity with various accounts (Nostro, Vostro, Corporate Customer), and integration of payments services with correspondent account processing, an asset.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins for automation testing is also a plus, contributing to robust data pipeline management.
  • Consulting and / or strategy experience preferred, demonstrating problem-solving, analytical thinking, and effective stakeholder management.
  • Tier 1 bank or financial institution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, document, and validate current state processes and design the desired future state target operating model (TOM); provide recommendations and/or direction based on the end-to-end customer experience when making decisions.
  • Lead, analyze, document, and manage requirements with stakeholders by applying a variety of techniques to probe, elicit, challenge, understand, and gain consensus on requirements.
  • Prioritize requirements based on input from Business Stakeholders & understanding of broader Roadmap priorities for business outcomes.
  • Manage end-to-end traceability from business goals to business rules and features, epics, user stories, and test cases.
  • Plan for people & process changes, coordinate with impacted stakeholders, and execute change plans (i.e., documentation, socialization, communications, training).
  • Plan, execute, and manage functional testing efforts in support of the delivery lifecycle – in-sprint testing, business acceptance testing (BAT), production acceptance testing (PAT) and post-production validations.
  • Manage creation, review and sign-off of testing documentation (e.g., test strategies, plans, schedule, test cases, dashboards, defect logs, test phase closure reports) for assigned area / projects and ensure all test artifacts adhere to testing standards and traceability requirements.
  • Review business & system requirements and system design documents to create test cases with detailed steps and expected results with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Execute test cases and document actual results, with a high degree of accuracy adhering to timelines.
  • Assist in defining test data and test environment requirements.
  • Log defects and assist in resolution process as required.
  • Effectively communicate product changes and backlog priorities to stakeholders.
  • Empowered to make delivery decisions and assess/mitigate/manage risks.
  • Drive the team to plan and execute regular Business Stakeholder Demos for completed product increments to demonstrate progress and gather feedback; includes compiling and sharing of team performance metrics.
  • Understand and communicate testing impact of scope changes / project change requests to the project management team both from a timeline/cost and a risk perspective.
  • May analyze, develop, debug, execute and maintain automated test cases within the testing environment.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins for automation testing is also a plus, contributing to robust data pipeline management.
  • Employ Agile, Product Owner mindset, Shift Left testing methodologies and best practices utilizing collaborative tools like Jira, JTMF, and Confluence to ensure projects progress in the right direction.
  • Keep current on emerging trends, tools, and techniques to improve product development and delivery, including best practices from Design Thinking and Lean Startup methodologies.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, actively seeking ways to enhance capability and performance efficiency.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external partners, acting as an ambassador for the business area and the bank.
