Business and Banking Attorney
About The Position
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney looking to build or continue developing experience in business, corporate & banking law within a firm that values professionalism, mentorship and long-term growth. Our attorneys work closely together across offices and practice groups, creating an environment where collaboration is encouraged and attorneys have the opportunity to take on meaningful work from the beginning. Attorneys in this role will have direct client interaction and the opportunity to work on a broad range of business, corporate and banking matters, including commercial transactions, financing, entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, creditor rights and general business counseling.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Currently admitted or soon to be admitted to practice in New York State or Pennsylvania
- Desire to continue developing legal skills and building experience in Business & Banking law
- Strong analytical, research, writing and communication skills
- Sound judgment
- Ability to effectively manage multiple matters and deadlines
- Responsiveness to client needs
- Comfort communicating with clients and colleagues in person, by email and by telephone
- Value a collaborative, team-oriented approach to the practice of law
Responsibilities
- Drafting and reviewing a variety of business contracts
- Advising clients on transactional and general business matters
- Representing lenders and borrowers in financing transactions
- Assisting clients with entity formations, corporate restructuring, business succession planning and mergers and acquisitions
- Conducting legal research on business and banking matters, including applicable statutes, case law and regulations
- Providing practical legal advice to business clients
- Managing multiple matters and deadlines while remaining responsive to client needs
- Communicating with clients and colleagues in person, by email and by telephone
