Microsoft•Redmond, WA
•$106,400 - $203,600

About The Position

The Business Analytics Specialist will support Microsoft’s SME&C Corporate Accounts business, with a primary focus on the Corporate Accounts Intelligence Platform (CAIP) and Azure business intelligence and analytics. The role translates business priorities into scalable reporting, semantic models, and analytical products that help leaders and field organizations understand performance and take action. It spans the analytics lifecycle, including clarifying business questions and metrics, designing models, developing BI solutions, validating data, and driving adoption. Approximately 60% of the role focuses on Corporate Accounts BI, including CAIP and Azure analytics; approximately 40% focuses on semantic models, data architecture, AI readiness, and self-service analytics. The specialist will build trusted and reusable analytical foundations, improve data quality and performance, reduce fragmented reporting, and prepare assets for self-service and AI-enabled experiences such as Copilot and natural-language analytics. The role also involves analyzing business performance, communicating findings and recommendations, partnering across business and technical teams, and improving analytics standards and practices.

  • Experience consolidating fragmented semantic models or reporting solutions into reusable analytical foundations.
  • Understanding of how semantic models, metadata, business definitions, and data quality enable Copilot, natural-language analytics, and AI-agent scenarios.
  • Ability to explain complex analytical findings in simple business terms and create executive-ready scorecards, presentations, and analytical narratives.
  • Ability to distinguish reporting a metric from explaining the business drivers behind it.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work across business, analytics, engineering, and operations organizations.
  • Ability to independently manage BI products and analytical workstreams from definition through delivery.
  • Prioritization and execution skills, including balancing business urgency with long-term architectural quality.
  • Comfort working in an environment where business priorities and analytical requirements evolve rapidly.
  • Demonstrated focus on quality, accuracy, scalability, and user experience.
