About The Position

The Business Analytics internship at ACDHS offers students the opportunity to apply their technical skills to real-world challenges that impact individuals, families, and communities across Allegheny County. As a Business Analytics Intern, you will work on projects that help ACDHS improve services, make informed decisions, and better understand community needs. You will gain hands-on experience using data, analytics, and business acumen to support aging services programs.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience or training in SQL or programming languages.
  • Students from business or business-adjacent majors would be a good match.
  • Enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university (undergraduate or graduate).
  • Available to work up to 29 hours per week.
  • Able to work in person at an assigned ACDHS office.
  • Must have an Allegheny County address during the internship.
  • International candidates must meet federal I-9 employment eligibility requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with dashboarding tools like Tableau or Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting business unit functions including billing support, report running, and data monitoring.
  • Completing analytics projects such as dashboard development, fee-for-service program evaluation, and process optimization.
  • Supporting the initial development and stabilization of the aging business unit.
  • Assisting with projects and critical processes due to significant project backlogs.
