About The Position

EviCore is seeking a Business Analytics Advisor to join its Healthcare Economics team. The role oversees and assists with the design, development, analysis, and reporting of claims data using business intelligence tools and statistical and analytical techniques. The work supports understanding healthcare trends, reporting program results, and identifying opportunities to expand products with new and existing customers. The Advisor reports to the Business Analytics Senior Manager and works closely with Account Management, Finance, Informatics, Medical, Sales, and Marketing teams. The position also involves direct customer engagement through written and verbal presentations that support strategic decisions affecting revenue, medical expense, and product growth. The ideal candidate has a medical, financial, or actuarial analysis background and is results-oriented, comfortable in a fast-paced and challenging environment. The role conducts analyses of medical costs and trends, applies actuarial concepts and tools, and uses findings to establish savings forecasts and pricing. It also provides analyses for sales and product development, including claims-data analysis for IBNR calculations, provider network overlap, fee schedule pricing, trend mitigation, and population mix shifts. When working from home, the internet connection must be through cable broadband or fiber optic service with speeds of at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, statistics, or another quantitative field.
  • At least 8 years of progressive analytical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of big data and data warehouses, including data extraction and manipulation and dimension, fact, and reference tables.
  • Extensive experience using data directly from a SQL or similar database, rather than relying only on a reporting GUI.
  • Strong understanding of managed care metrics, including PMPM, utilization per 1,000, and average cost.
  • If working from home occasionally or permanently, access to cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with minimum speeds of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in finance, economics, statistics, or another quantitative field.
  • Experience working in an ACO, IPA, or MCO setting and/or with bundled payments.

  • Influence internal stakeholders to accomplish objectives.
  • Present highly technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work with IT and data warehousing counterparts to design and develop deliverables for the economics team and customer reporting needs.
  • Conduct baseline and trend analyses for targeted medical cost categories, geographies, and segments.
  • Calculate baseline and trend metrics, such as PMPM and utilization per 1,000.
  • Apply actuarial concepts and tools to analyze utilization and cost trends across networks, products, and geographies.
  • Validate findings against established benchmarks.
  • Use baseline metrics and trends to establish savings forecasts and pricing.
  • Deliver accurate and timely results to internal and external customers.
  • Communicate results to key stakeholders and policy makers using well-organized presentations that explain analytic methods and key decision points with sufficient detail to support understanding and replication.
  • Perform analyses supporting new sales and product development, including IBNR calculations, provider network overlap, fee schedule pricing, trend mitigation, and population mix shifts.
