About The Position

To provide continuing analytical services to identify opportunities for improvement in district business processes, requirements for technology applications, needs for training (both individual and group), and to facilitate the implementation of required and recommended changes. This will be achieved by functioning as a team, thus providing a broad approach to determining the best business practices for the organization as a whole.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or any equivalent combination of related education, training and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential job functions.
  • Five (5) years of experience data analysis, business analysis, process improvement, project coordination, systems analysis or working with large scale student or business systems required.
  • Experience developing business requirements, functional requirements, technical specifications, workflow diagrams, process maps, and/or gap analyses, implementation documentation for enterprise technology solutions required.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to decentralized decision making and accountability for results.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively as liaisons among the internal operational departments, business process owners, and end users (schools and department personnel); ability to analyze business processes in order to provide recommendations for improvements that achieve expected end/results.
  • Analytical skills for reviewing information, identifying important issues and formulating alternative solutions to problems in area of responsibility while considering a total system’s view.
  • Knowledge of district’s information systems including the design and operational processes; ability to remain current with changing technology as it relates to district’s information processes, operations, and system configuration.
  • Ability to think and function logically in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to collaborate facilitate and partner to successfully achieve district goals.
  • Ability to clearly understand the vision and strategies that management is striving to achieve.
  • Ability to coordinate systems development activities across multi-functional layers and division/departments of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Related background in education preferred.
  • Experience with state or federal reporting and requirements preferred.
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL experience preferred.

  • Act as a contributing member of a project team responsible for providing process analysis and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical deficiencies and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, workshops, interviews, and meetings to elicit, document, validate, and prioritize business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Analyze current-state and future-state business processes and develop process maps, workflows, gap analyses, and business cases to support operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, subject matter experts, developers, vendors, and project teams to ensure proposed solutions align with operational needs and technical capabilities.
  • Participate in collaborative working relationships with key managers and other partners.
  • Assist in the development of procedures to solve complex problems based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and requirements. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications and/or procedural changes.
  • Collaborate in process change by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicating these changes to effected business system teams.
  • Keep supervisor/chief and business process owner informed about opportunities, issues, and incidents about which they should be aware.
  • Act as owner representative for assigned process areas.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure a shared understanding of objectives, requirements, priorities, and project outcomes.
  • Coordinate stakeholder feedback and evaluate business processes and technology solutions to ensure they effectively support schools, departments, and district operations.
  • Effectively utilize resources to accomplish goals.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the school district’s charter guidelines.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
  • Develop leadership in subordinates.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
  • Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
  • Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends, and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
