About The Position

We are seeking a Business Analyst with proficient understanding of business strategy and business planning principles as they apply to project work (areas may include but not limited to: value proposition, mission/strategy, goals/objectives, technology assessments, funding, and management/administration). This role involves providing business analysis services at a local, institutional, and enterprise level, understanding both business and technical needs to deliver quality products or processes that meet business objectives. The analyst will examine costs, benefits, and risks of proposed investments/projects, recommend solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to define business objectives and requirements using system and analytical thinking. Responsibilities include contributing to project charters and plans, applying systems engineering methodologies, performing data analysis, documenting business requirements, supporting translation to functional specifications, and assisting with design synthesis and system validation. The role also involves coordinating deployment of deliverables, demonstrating system and analytical thinking, maintaining effective communication, building rapport with stakeholders, and potentially managing mid-level complexity projects.

Requirements

  • Proficient understanding of business strategy and business planning principles as they apply to project work.
  • Bachelor's degree and six (6) years experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science-related field.
  • Progressive knowledge and demonstrated use of business analysis methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to drive consensus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide business analysis services at a local, institutional, and enterprise level.
  • Understand and consider both the business and the technical needs of all customers with the goal of providing a quality product or process that meets the business objectives.
  • Examine costs, benefits and risks associated with the proposed investment/project and recommend alternatives for solutions throughout the business life cycle.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and users to synthesize, articulate, and document business objectives and requirements by applying system and analytical thinking methodology and discipline.
  • Contribute to project charter and plans, work assignments, target dates, and other aspects of assigned projects.
  • Apply systems engineering methodologies and discipline throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform data analysis, define and document business requirements, support translation to functional specifications early in the development cycle, and conclude with design synthesis and system validation while considering the complete system.
  • Assist project leaders in coordinating deployment of deliverables.
  • Demonstrate system and analytical thinking capability.
  • Maintain effective correspondence and in-person communication.
  • Build credibility, rapport and partners with others to understand their needs and provide conflict resolution, problem solving, and ability to drive consensus.
  • Work in partnership with stakeholders to develop a solid knowledge base of business needs.
  • May manage projects of mid-level complexity, which could include sub-components of larger-scale projects as directed by project leaders.
