About The Position

Select Medical is seeking an Epic Business Analyst to join their team. The Business Analyst will work closely with application coordinators and serve as the primary support contact for Epic software, a leading health information technology system. The role involves in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and technical issues related to Epic. The Business Analyst will also coordinate issues, analyze business operations, and implement system changes. This position includes comprehensive training at Epic's headquarters, covering all expenses, and requires certification projects and tests.

Requirements

  • BS or BA in information systems, business administration, health care or related field or equivalent education and experience
  • 1+ year of experience in Business Analysis
  • Customer service skills
  • Analytical thinking
  • Proven ability to learn custom applications
  • Candidate must take EPIC sphinx (Select will administer)

  • Some clinical or EMR (Electronic Medical Records) experience

Responsibilities

  • Acting as the primary support contact for the application.
  • Coordinating all issues that arise in their application area.
  • Understanding the choices involved in application configuration.
  • Performing in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software.
  • Investigate end users' preference while making build decisions.
  • Analyzing business operations as they relate to build decisions.
  • Prioritizing and implementing requested changes to the system.
  • Analyzing new functionality in releases to determine how it should be used.
  • Populating databases during the initial system build with assistance from Epic.
  • Coordinating software updates and changes.
  • Reviewing and testing each new release.
  • Collecting information regarding potential system enhancement needs.
  • Preparing details of specifications as needed.
  • Analyzing data conversion needs.
  • Ensuring that data coming across an interface into an Epic application meets the business need.
  • Serving as a liaison between end users, third parties, and Epic implementation staff.
  • Troubleshooting problems and questions from end users.
