The Business Analyst serves as a junior member of Doherty’s FP&A team, helping manage the company’s data practices, ad hoc analyses on the business’ operations, and financial reporting. Requirements

Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills, ability to craft complex formulas and basic financial models from scratch
Proficiency using languages like SQL, Python or R to clean, reconcile and extract meaningful insight from large data sets
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other departments/stakeholders
Creative problem-solving skills, curiosity to chase questions without clear answers, ability to communicate your findings and thought process
Familiarity using cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, or Fabric
Proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
Basic understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts (how data moves from source systems into a warehouse and gets modeled for reporting)
Experience with restaurant industry KPIs and an understanding of the metrics used to examine revenue and costs in a multi-unit company.

Responsibilities

Assist in the improvement of business processes by helping the team design, test and implement new data strategies and work flows across the company
Build and maintain financial models to analyze unit economics, labor and food cost trends, and new store performance
Write SQL queries to pull and validate data from our cloud data warehouse (Snowflake) for recurring reporting and one-off analysis
Partner with Accounting, Operations, IT and Restaurant Systems teams to understand how store-level data flows through our ETL pipelines and into the data warehouse
Maintain and improve existing Excel-based reporting and dashboards used across the FP&A team
Support monthly close, budgeting, and forecasting processes across corporate and store-level P&Ls
