Business Analysts are responsible for bridging the gap between technology and the business by assessing and improving processes and systems through analysis, stakeholder engagement, and identification of improvement opportunities. This includes eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating business, policy, technical, operational, and functional requirements. They develop and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, process documentation, and requirements traceability. Collaboration with business stakeholders, child welfare subject matter experts, implementation vendors, and technical teams is crucial throughout discovery, design reviews, and project delivery activities. The role supports backlog refinement, prioritization, and management activities to align solution delivery with business objectives and stakeholder needs. It also guides teams in the application of Agile principles and practices, fostering an Agile mindset through planning, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while supporting Scrum ceremonies, stakeholder engagement, and coordination across project teams. Analysis of business processes, metrics, and related data is key to identifying issues, gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement. The role also supports system testing, user acceptance testing, and data validation activities, and maintains system documentation, project documentation, and project metrics. Assistance in the development and execution of project governance, business analysis, and delivery processes that support successful CCWIS modernization is also a responsibility.
