About The Position

The Business Analyst plays an important role that supports business acquisition. The role is responsible for delivering data and reporting, identifying and realizing efficiencies and supporting the analysis of business requirements, processes, and workflows. This role combines technical knowledge of the various systems/data and a business understanding of what those details mean in order to build and maintain effective ways of working and support strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Finance, Data Science)
  • Knowledge of financial products, systems, and our business.
  • A critical thinker that has attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Work well in a rapidly changing environment, yet understands the importance of responsible change management when effecting change
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects using strong time and task management skills.
  • Self-starter who is innovative and accepting of and open to learning new ideas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, with emphasis on Excel
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI) and automation tools (Power Query, Power Automate)
  • Experience in working with data analytics tools (SQL, Python, R) considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website.

  • Business Analyst certification an asset.
  • bilingualism is an asset (fluent in French and English) but is required for Quebec only as the position will regularly serve our clients with French and English-speaking needs.

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage and maintain reporting, dashboards and automations
  • Guide and facilitate the analysis, requirements gathering and scoping for business initiatives or projects that reflect the needs of business.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand the business processes and needs to elicit, capture, validate, and prioritize business requirements.
  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure the system solution matches all the business requirements.
  • Work with project team members to ensure the testing and test strategy adequately supports the requirements created for changes to our products and any system changes required.
  • Communicate effectively with project, production, and leadership teams regarding any problems, their solutions, and the rationalization for both.
  • Provide updates towards project status, timelines, risks, issues, and costs.
  • Contribute to training strategies and business implementation plans.
