About The Position

Seeking a Business Analyst who will assist in the future modernization for home-grown systems in IFA/EDA/TG. The resource will be expected to create, present and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, demo expectations and design documents in DHS defined systems. Additionally: Create, document, trace, maintain, prioritize, and assess changes to business processes and the associated requirements. Work closely with key decision makers, systems owners and end users in support of core processes and critical business objectives. Conduct research to obtain data, analyze problems, and to advise and recommend solutions. Query and analyze data to determine solutions, such as installation of alternate methods and procedures, changes in processing methods and practices, or redesign of products or services. Advise client or department heads on alternate methods of solving needs or problems, and recommend specific solutions. Work within an agile methodology framework with a focus on delivering value and adjusting rapidly to produce the most effective outcome. Work closely with all IT organizations and driving projects to successful completion.

Requirements

• Experience working on large, complex IT systems
• Experience with Data Mapping and Data Modeling
• Experience eliciting requirements, writing user stories and design documents, defining acceptance criteria, testing outcomes, and facilitating communication between business stakeholders, developers, and project teams.
• Experience with SDLC procedures and system development methodologies.
• Experience managing stakeholder expectations and priorities.
• Experience working within a project governance structure (methodology, required templates, and reporting).
• Excellent task management skills. Ability to balance and manage multiple tasks, with changing priorities, in a cross-functional environment.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and project activities, simultaneously, while meeting established deadlines.
• Experience with Microsoft development platforms and software.
• Experience in an Agile environment.
• Experience with Application Lifecycle Management [ALM] tools; Microsoft’s Team Foundation Server (TFS), Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS), Azure DevOps (ADO), Atlassian’s Jira, IBM’s Rational Team Suite (RTC).
• Working experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio or other relational database software.
• Familiarity with advanced information management practices, data modeling standards, and/or architecture design and analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Business, or related field, and/or relevant experience
