About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Summer 2027 Business Analyst Intern to support the County of San Diego Contract from June 2027 to August 2027. As a Business Analyst intern, students will bridge County needs and technical teams by translating business problems into clear requirements and user stories. You will help shape how AI-assisted development projects are scoped and planned under the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC). Peraton is the County of San Diego's IT and telecommunications partner, supporting the technology that County departments rely on to serve more than 3 million residents, from public health and social services to public safety and libraries. As an intern/co-op on the CoSD program, you will work alongside Peraton professionals on real projects that modernize County services, including emerging work applying AI to how software is designed, built, and delivered. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) for a 10-week summer internship, hybrid, based in San Diego, CA.

Requirements

• US Citizenship
• HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
• Current undergrad or graduate student pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Strong written communication and ability to document processes and requirements clearly
• Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile concepts

Nice To Haves

• Experience writing user stories or acceptance criteria
• Familiarity with AI-DLC, JIRA, or process-mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart)
• Basic SQL or data analysis skills
• Interest in public-sector technology
