About The Position

The Enterprise IT Business Analyst III is responsible for understanding the business goals and processes of Texas Tech departments. This role involves documenting business processes, acting as a liaison between central IT and functional departments, supporting software applications, and managing business analyst projects. The position also includes collecting and analyzing data, assisting with software implementation and configuration, and suggesting process improvements through automation. The IT Business Analyst will document project definitions and business needs for programming staff. This enterprise position is within central IT Division areas reporting to the institutional CIO and may interface with key IT and functional leadership from Texas Tech University System institutions. The role will coordinate new projects and ongoing support for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for the dental clinic and simulation lab, and other related applications. Responsibilities include identifying software implementation/modification requirements for dental school and clinic technology, monitoring issues, and coordinating training and support for end-users on the EHR and other clinical/simulation lab applications. The IT Business Analyst will also provide telephone assistance for software-related issues and collaborate with other IT areas for solutions. Availability during off-hours is required, as are current licensure, certifications, and compliance training. Adherence to all policies and procedures is mandatory. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required plus five (5) years related full-time paid experience OR A combination or related education and/or experience.
  • Experience working with or supporting electronic health records.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the business goals and processes of Texas Tech departments.
  • Document business processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between central IT and functional departments.
  • Support software applications.
  • Manage business analyst projects as needed.
  • Collect, analyze, and develop data relative to business areas.
  • Assist in implementation and configurations of software applications.
  • Suggest improvements in business processes as automation is implemented.
  • Document project definitions and business needs for automation use by programming staff.
  • Coordinate new projects and ongoing support activities related to the Electronic Health Record for the dental clinic and simulation lab and all other related applications.
  • Identify requirements needed for software implementations/modifications related to dental school and clinic technology and coordinate the process efficiently.
  • Monitor known issues and take appropriate action.
  • Coordinate and provide training and on-going support to end-users on the Electronic Health Record application as well as all other clinical and simulation lab applications supported by the department.
  • Assist end-users with Electronic Health Records software specialization and modifications.
  • Provide telephone assistance to staff/users with software related issues and collaborate with other IT areas to identify solutions.
  • Be available during off working hours as needed.
  • Remain current with all licensure, certifications, and mandatory compliance and training requirements.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and practices.
