About The Position

Position Purpose: The Business Analyst is responsible for providing daily support activities necessary for the successful execution of all merchandising reset projects within the Merch Services organization. They will assist in creating purchase orders, goods receipts, resolving vendor invoice issues, financial reporting and analysis, accounting journal entries, and forecasting. They will also assist with special projects that include process improvements and automation. Will assist in financial close activities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis and serve as a liaison between the cross-functional groups within Merch Services and other business partners. They must leverage business operations knowledge to ensure proper controls are in place to optimize process/policy improvements.

Requirements

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
• Strong project management skills, including strong process orientation, ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
• Good communication skills, including ability to interact with officers, also needs the ability to negotiate and persuade
• Strong analytical skills and general understanding of technical concepts
• Ability to establish priorities and procedures for accomplishing work within established deadlines; ability to handle multiple projects and manage toward deadlines and deliverables
• Proven leadership skills, including a willingness and ability to be a mentor
• 2 years of work experience

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel + Tableau skills
• Previous experience with financial analysis/budgeting and solid understanding of basic financial accounting principles
• 2+ years experience in Purchasing-related activities such as PO proficiency, project management and presentation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead all phases of a project's life cycle (i.e. feasibility, design implementation, evaluation); this includes extracting the business need; defining the business requirements, understanding the impact on the business, and designing and carrying out the project(s)
• Serve as liaison between merchandising and finance by facilitating meetings including both departments
• Mentor other analysts in developing/honing business knowledge and analytical skills
• Servce as a subject matter expert and perform research and/or analysis within assigned projects
• Multi-task to work on 2 to 4 projects simultaneously, recommending process improvements and making final project recommendations which impact the business
• Establish and report on metrics of assigned projects to guage business value
