About The Position

Nomura is a global financial services group with an integrated network, connecting markets East & West. The Global Markets Technology division builds and maintains software solutions for Global Markets Front and Middle office businesses across various regions and products. The GMIT London team is a key part of this global effort, partnering to deliver technology solutions prioritized in the Global Book of Work. This team supports critical business functions including Pricing, Sales & Research, Electronic Trading, Client & Exchange Connectivity, Trade Capture & Workflow, Trade Life Cycle Management, MIS, Position, Risk Management, P&L, and interfaces to Corporate Settlement, Risk, and Finance systems. This specific role is within the Equities Technology Team, supporting the Equities Risk platform, which is undergoing a significant modernization and enhancement program. The team comprises developers and Business Analysts distributed globally.

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited university
  • Strong business analysis experience in Equities, with demonstrable ability to produce high-quality requirements documentation
  • Knowledge of equities models, risk metrics, products, and lifecycle
  • Experience working on complex technology delivery programmes across multiple business areas
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to adapt to different audiences
  • Experience managing risks, issues, and dependencies within a project context
  • Ability to work effectively across global teams and time zones
  • Experience defining test strategies and leading test execution
  • Exposure to DevOps tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence) to manage project deliverables and requirements traceability
  • Experience in defining target state architectures working with technology and enterprise architects
  • Ability to ensure implementations meet firm-wide technology objectives

  • Project management experience or certification (e.g. Prince2, PMP, Agile)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis, definition, and documentation of business requirements for strategic Equities Risk initiatives.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Front Office, Middle Office, and Technology to elicit, define, and prioritize requirements.
  • Produce comprehensive business requirements documentation, functional specifications, and process flows.
  • Analyze existing workflows and identify opportunities for improvement as part of the platform modernization.
  • Partner with development and testing teams to ensure a detailed understanding of requirements and design from analysis through development to testing.
  • Manage scope and prioritization of workstreams driven by both internal needs and external demands.
  • Define acceptance criteria and support test strategy definition and UAT coordination.
  • Build strong relationships with the global Equities business, facilitating effective communication and collaboration across regions.
  • Provide project oversight and reporting to support programme delivery.
  • Manage a small development team.
