About The Position

The Finance and Business Information Services department is hiring for a Business Analysis Coordinator or Business Analyst, depending on candidate qualifications. This role acts as a liaison between IT system stakeholders and the IT team, ensuring business needs are met throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include documenting existing systems and processes, facilitating communication between business and technical partners, and utilizing data, reporting, and testing to support decision-making and system effectiveness. The position also identifies opportunities for process, integration, and functionality improvements. Leadership aspects involve relationship building, project and process management, and cross-stakeholder communication. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization. The role is located in the Mossman Business Services Building (MBSB) and operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Salary ranges are $52,075 for Business Analysis Coordinator and $59,109 for Business Analyst, both commensurate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related experience in business processes and technical services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Demonstrated ability in learning new technologies.
  • Ability of following through on commitments of self and others.
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience with internal documentation.

  • Experience with reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI and/or SQL Server Reporting Services.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and document business processes, systems, and requirements to drive improvements and system integration.
  • Partner with stakeholders and IT teams to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Develop and execute system testing and support implementation, including validating results with stakeholders.
  • Generate reports, analyze data and user feedback, and recommend enhancements to improve processes and system performance.
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders of IT systems and the IT team.
  • Document existing systems and processes.
  • Facilitate communication between business and technical partners.
  • Use data, reporting, and testing to support decision-making and system effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, integration, and functionality.
  • Provide leadership in relationship building, project and process management, and communication across stakeholders and organizational partners.
