About The Position

Our client, an award-winning law firm, is seeking a Business Advisory & Transactional Attorney and Team Lead to add to their team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a player-coach role: you will maintain a personal docket of high-impact negotiations, governance matters, and complex structures while leading a team of attorneys and paralegals you will help build from the ground up. As a team lead, you will own team-level performance and client satisfaction and will focus on distributing work intelligently, enforcing standards, and maintaining client confidence through predictable execution. The ideal candidate has significant transactional experience in private practice, including first-chair experience on M&A or strategic transactions. Requirements

  • JD and active membership in the Florida Bar required
  • 7+ years transactional law experience required
  • 5+ years private practice with small/medium-sized clients required
  • First-chair experience on significant M&A or strategic transactions required
  • Previous leadership experience (mentoring, team lead, etc.) required
  • Comfort operating in an entrepreneurial, KPI-driven scorecard environment required

Responsibilities

  • Lead weekly Level 10 operating meeting: scorecards, SLA health, work distribution, risks
  • Distribute work across the team to ensure SLA and utilization targets are achieved
  • Coach attorneys and paralegals on process execution and QA standard adherence
  • Own team portfolio and associated metrics: client satisfaction, retention, and expansion
  • Maintain a personal docket: high-impact negotiations, governance counseling, complexities
  • Partner with Practice Area Managers on data integrity, dashboard health, early‑warning signals
  • Drive adoption/optimization of templates, matter plans, and platforms; keep accurate checklists
  • Lead client relationships, mentor team talent, and ensure clean cross‑team handoffs
  • Leverage AI tools actively and effectively to drive efficient operations
