About The Position
THIS JOB POSTING IS FOR GCTD FIXED ROUTE SERVICES ONLY. GCTD Bus Operators enjoy paid training, competitive pay, and benefits. Applicants do not need a commercial driver's license to apply, GCTD will train qualified applicants to prepare them for their Commercial License testing. A bus operator is responsible for the safe operation of a passenger bus on an assigned route and on schedule. Entry-level rate for our Bus Operators is $24.94.
Requirements
- Knowledge of California Department of Motor Vehicle Rules and Regulations
- Ability to establish and maintain courteous, effective relations and work harmoniously with others
- Ability to prepare clear and legible reports
- A minimum of three years of safe driving
- Minimum 21 years of age
- A valid Class B (Commercial License) permit is required prior to the first day of training.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a pleasant, courteous and helpful attitude toward the public at all times.
- Drive with due regard for the safety and comfort of the passengers.
- Answer questions regarding bus routes and time schedules of the Gold Coast Transit District system.
- Collect fares.
- Report equipment deficiencies using prescribed forms and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
