Bus Monitor at Propel McKeesport
About The Position
Under moderate supervision, the selected candidate will perform duties that involve maintaining order on the bus while students are being transported. This includes monitoring the behavior of children on the bus to ensure the driver is not distracted from safe driving, ensuring the safety of children while entering, riding, and departing the bus, and establishing good working relationships with children, parents, the bus driver, and other staff. The position also involves communicating with classroom aides, teachers, principals, and parents concerning student behavior as appropriate, maintaining regular attendance, and performing other duties as assigned. This position starts and ends at Propel McKeesport to monitor the afternoon bus. The monitor is needed on the bus from 3:45-5:30pm.
Requirements
- Up-to-date TB Test
- Act 34 Criminal Clearance
- Act 114 FBI Clearance
- Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
Responsibilities
- Monitoring behavior of children on the bus so the driver will not be distracted from safe driving
- Ensuring the safety of children while entering, riding, and departing the bus
- Establishing good working relationships with children, parents, bus driver, and other staff
- Communicating with classroom aides, teachers, principals, and parents concerning student behavior as appropriate
