About The Position
The Bus Monitor helps ensure students travel safely on school buses by assisting with loading and unloading, supporting acceptable behavior, and helping drivers stay on schedule. The position works 19 1/2 hours per week during the school year, for 180 days, with hours from 7–9 a.m. and 2–4 p.m. The monitor must attend all required school bus safety training sessions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe loading and unloading of school bus riders using approved procedures.
- Assist the driver in maintaining acceptable behavior on school buses.
- Assist drivers in keeping to schedule.
- Attend all required school bus safety training sessions.
