About The Position

This is a term position for a Bus Driver at the Middleton Bus Garage, operating from the effective date until February 1, 2027. The role involves 5 hours of work per day. Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Collective Agreement Local 3876. The position reports to the Transportation Supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 19 years of age.
• Current Nova Scotia Operator’s License Class 2B with air brake endorsement.
• Clean driving record.
• Up-to-date medical and vision tests.
• Good communication skills.
• Demonstrate reliability and high moral conduct.
• Training in basic First Aid/CPR.
• Experience operating a school bus on all kinds of roads and during all weather conditions is required.
• Confirmation of educational qualifications must be included with your application.

Responsibilities

• Supports operations in the Middleton area.
• Operating seventy-two passenger school buses with air brakes on assigned routes and extracurricular trips.
• Responsibility for safety and discipline of passengers.
• Daily routine maintenance including cleaning, washing and pre-trip inspections of the vehicle.
